About the project
We are building a picture of rights across Scotland so that we can support duty bearers to do better for people in Scotland. Mid and North East Scotland is the third region that we have spotlighted.
Economic, social and cultural rights are about the things we all need to live a life free from fear and want. They include:
What the project aims to do
Our approach to monitoring economic, social and cultural rights aims to fill the gaps in human rights data and bring us closer to local communities. We travel to communities, meet with local people, bear witness to their lived experiences and report our findings to the Scottish Parliament.
Ultimately, this project aims to improve people’s experiences of their economic, social, and cultural rights in Mid and North East Scotland, ensuring that no one in Scotland is left behind.
