The Scottish HumanRights Commission welcomes the launch of Redress Scotland, which marks the opening of a financial redress scheme for survivors of historical abuse in care.
Judith Robertson, Chair of the Commission, said:

The Scottish HumanRights Commission has called for an end to the police practice of carrying out... a threat to everyone’s right to privacy, protected in our law by the HumanRights Act and Article 8 of the European Convention on HumanRights. All of us should be free to go about our daily business... and communities and would be a positive and constructive approach to protecting the humanrights of us all.”
