The Commission has submitted a report to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child on the United Kingdom's periodic report on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
What is freedom of assembly and association?
The right to freedom of assembly and association, which is protected by law in Scotland, guarantees that people can join with others to collectively express, promote, pursue and defend their interests.
This right enables people to express their political opinions, join trade unions, engage in religious observances, engage in artistic pursuits, and elect their representatives and hold them accountable.
The Commission and the Centre of Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland (CELSIS) have been hosting a series of InterActions to develop an ActionPlan on Justice and Remedies for survivors of historical child abuse.
