UN Disability Convention
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) is an international human rights agreement written by and for disabled people. The Commission works with its sister national human rights organisations in the UK, and civil society organisations, to monitor its implementation in Scotland.
Human rights-based approach
A human rights-based approach involves applying the principles of participation, accountability, non-discrimination, empowerment and legality to addressing an issue. The Commission is working with See Me to help embed a human rights-based approach in the work it supports to end mental health stigma and discrimination.
