Research project to inform the Commission’s submission to the Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)

The Scottish Human Rights Commission (the Commission) invites interested parties to submit an application to undertake a short piece of research to inform the Commission’s submission to Committee on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women as part of the periodic review of the United Kingdom. Recruitment: Part Time Commission Member

The Scottish Parliament Corporate Body (SBCB) is seeking is seeking to appoint a part-time Commission member who must be able to spend 30 days per year on commission business. What we have done so far

Highlands and Islands We started the project in the place with the biggest gaps in human rights data: the Highlands and Islands. In 2023, we visited more than twenty towns across six local authorities and interviewed more than a hundred people  . Some of the most critical issues that we found were: Many people are unable to afford housing, to heat their homes or to travel to access healthcare.
