The Commission is a member of the National Preventative Mechanism (NPM) which has today published its annual report.
The NPM was established in 2009 to strengthen the protection of people in detention through independent monitoring. The group is made up of 20 organisations across the UK and monitors all areas where people are detained.

On Tuesday 9 October Professor Alan Miller, Chair of the Scottish Human Rights Commission, delivered a lecture From Climate Change to Climate Justice as part of the Our Changing World series, hosted by the University of Edinburgh.
