A briefing sent to Members of the Scottish Parliament ahead of a debate to mark HumanRights Day on 10 December and the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of HumanRights. The briefing sets out the Commission's work, as Scotland'sNationalHumanRights Institution, to promote and protect humanrights in Scotland in accordance with the Paris Principles.
Housing Rights in Practice
Housing Rights in Practice was a project run by the Commission and others as part of SNAP - Scotland’s NationalActionPlan for HumanRights. It ran from 2015 to 2019.
The project aimed to empower people to tackle substandard housing and living conditions by using humanrights. It was delivered in partnership with Edinburgh Tenants Federation and Participation and the Practice of Rights.

What the project will do
We want to fill the gaps in humanrights data and make sure that people in the South of Scotland have their economic, social and cultural rights met. Our humanrights monitoring model brings us closer to local communities and their humanrights concerns. We aim to bear... to the Scottish Parliament.
