The process has been constructed based on humanrights principles outlined in SHRC’s HumanRights Framework for Acknowledgement and Accountability for Historic Child
The three 'A' status nationalhumanrights institutions in the UK – the Equality and HumanRights Commission, the Northern Ireland HumanRights Commission and the Scottish HumanRights Commission – have issued a joint statement on violence against women. The statement has been released in response to a report from the United Nations HumanRights Council's Special Rapporteur following her visit to the UK in 2014.

The Palestinian Independent Commission for HumanRights (link to Home page in English) is a sister NationalHumanRightsInstitution (NHRI) to the SHRC, and is recognised by the United Nations as an "A status" NHRI.
