A Human Rights Based Approach to Health The Commission works with others to help put human rights at the heart of health and social care services in Scotland. From 2013 to 2018, we played an active role in the Health and Social Care Action Group, convened through Scotland’s National Action Plan for Human Rights.  As part of this, we worked with NHS Health Scotland and the Health and Social Care Alliance to produce a series of case studies illustrating human rights in practice in health
In 2017, to inform our own work, and to provide insights for other organisations working to advance human rights, the Commission contracted research specialists YouGov Plc to get a better understanding of the current knowledge and attitudes towards human rights among people in Scotland. The findings demonstrate strong support for human rights in Scotland, but also areas where more work is required to build understanding and support for human rights. This report summarises the findings.
