A HumanRights Based Approach to Health
The Commission works with others to help put humanrights at the heart of health and social care services in Scotland.
From 2013 to 2018, we played an active role in the Health and Social Care Action Group, convened through Scotland’s NationalActionPlan for HumanRights.
As part of this, we worked with NHS Health Scotland and the Health and Social Care Alliance to produce a series of case studies illustrating humanrights in practice in health
A briefing sent to Members of the Scottish Parliament ahead of a debate to mark HumanRights Day on 10 December and the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of HumanRights. The briefing sets out the Commission's work, as Scotland'sNationalHumanRights Institution, to promote and protect humanrights in Scotland in accordance with the Paris Principles.
