We all have the right to privacy and to go about our lives free from unnecessary interference from the police. Mobile phone browsing technology - or cyber kiosks - has the potential to be highly intrusive of this right. The Scottish Human Rights Commission therefore wants to see clear rules and safeguards in place to regulate the use of this technology, and to guarantee robust and independent oversight.
The European Court of Human Rights has established that it is the state's responsibility
people’s right to live independently at home, forcing some into hospital or residential care... and demonstrates the urgent need for action.

This meeting overlapped with the 19th regular session of the Human Rights..., presentations and seminars took place as part of the conference which brought together over eighty human... and effective in the protection and promotion of human rights.

pose a threat to everyone’s right to privacy, protected in our law by the Human Rights Act and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. All of us should be free to go about our daily...The Scottish Human Rights Commission has called for an end to the police practice of carrying out... the police and communities and would be a positive and constructive approach to protecting the human rights of us all.”
