Business and Human Rights

Business and human rights is a growing area of interest for national human rights institutions such as the Commission, as well as the business sector, elected representatives and international non governmental organisations.

Promoting and protecting human rights in these challenging financial times has brought a new perspective to many discussions around business, enterprise and investment.

The Commission wants to help Scotland take progressive steps to ensure that economic activity has a positive impact on the realisation of human rights. Some of the Commission’s work in this area is outlined on the pages to the left.
