Member of the Commission moves on to new role
One of the Members of the Scottish Human Rights Commission, John McNeill, has left to take up the role of the new Police Complaints Commissioner for Scotland (PCCS).
Professor Alan Miller, Chair of the Commission, said that John has “made a tremendous contribution to the Commission, and we all wish him the very best in his new post.
“John was one of the first appointments to the Scottish Human Rights Commission, and his insight and in-depth knowledge of criminal justice administration helped our team to lay a strong foundation to build on for the future.”

“I envisage many opportunities for our two organisations to work together and contribute to the Scottish Government’s strategic objectives of a “Safer and Stronger” and “fairer” Scotland.”
Further details on a replacement Member of the Commission will appear on this site in the coming weeks.
The announcement from the Justice Secretary on John’s appointment is online at the Scottish Government website, and more information about the role of the Police Complaints Commissioner for Scotland is available on their website.
