The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations in partnership with the Carnegie UK Trust is holding this free seminar to present the new report, ‘Climate change and resource scarcity: a guide for non-environmental groups’ by Tony Kendle (Eden Project) for the Carnegie UK Trust. The aim of the event is to raise the debate about the social challenges presented by climate change, the implications these will have, and the need for organisations across civil society to respond. The seminar is particularly aimed at senior staff, trustees or leaders of non-environmental organisations who are well-positioned to take forward the debate and to lead on addressing climate change both within their own organisations as well as with a wider audience. Most significantly it draws attention to the fact that, for solutions to be found, there is a vital need for active engagement – beyond those involved at an environmental level – and for collective action. Registration enquiries should be directed to Helen Swatton, contact details above.
